About the CAMB Program and Training

The CAMB at ACCHS provides foundational and advanced training in Chinese therapeutic massage (Tuina), integrating principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with practical clinical skills. Students gain expertise in meridian theory and acupoint location, Chinese orthopedic massage techniques, clinical assessment, treatment planning, and patient care. The program prepares graduates for professional practice as massage therapists specializing in Chinese manual therapy. It also provides an excellent pathway for students intending to pursue further study in acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine Throughout the program, instructors use classroom space, massage tables, white boards, lecture notes and handouts, projectors, and overhead screens to facilitate learning. A final exam is adminstered for every class.

The student must ensure that the clinical training, conducted under the supervision of program approved supervisors, consists of at least 60 treatments of student-delivered patient care, at least 30 minutes in duration, where student interns conduct patient interviews, perform diagnosis and treatment planning, perform appropriate medical bodywork treatments, and followup on patients’ responses to treatment. The clinical training is separate and distinct from clinical training in other programs.
