Transfer Student Requirements
If you are a student enrolled in another DAOM program and are contemplating transferring to ACCHS, you can apply to our Postgraduate DAOM Program as a Transfer Student. Up to 20 credits may be awarded for coursework and clinical instruction completed successfully at another DAOM school or college which is accredited by ACAHM.
GPA
Courses must be completed with a grade of 2.3 (C+) or better.
Transfer Credits
Courses completed at foreign institutions must first be evaluated by a foreign transcript evaluation agency. Foreign courses may be transferred only upon the approval of the Admissions Committee.
Request Form
Any student who wishes to transfer prior credit must submit a written Request Form for Admissions Committee review and receive approval within the first year of enrollment in the program.
Transferring TCM Courses
The Academy may grant academic credit for a DAOM curriculum course taken previously, provided it was completed at:
- a university or college accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education
a post-secondary educational institution approved or authorized by an appropriate governmental agency in the jurisdiction in which it is located, or
a program approved by the California Acupuncture Board and accredited by ACAHM and if the course name, credits, and necessary course descriptions indicate that the course meets the requirement of the Academy
Transferring Western Medicine Courses
Western medicine courses taken prior to enrollment at ACCHS may be transferred to fulfill part or the entire DAOM Western medicine requirement. Western medicine courses are transferable only from degree-granting colleges, universities, or TCM schools at the doctoral level that are regionally accredited.
Transfer Forms and Fees
Any student who wishes to transfer prior credit must submit a blue, Transfer Credit Request form for Admissions Committee review and approval within the first year of enrollment in the program. A transfer fee will apply to the evaluation of all courses transferred into the program. Please refer to Tuition and Fees for more information.
