The Academy is committed to a policy of equal opportunity. Admission is open to all qualified applicants. Equal educational opportunities will be provided to all persons, regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin, marital status, sexual preference, age, or physical handicap.
DAOM Candidates for admission are considered in the order in which their applications are completed. The Admissions Committee does not grant full admission to an applicant until all required information has been received by the Academy.
Prospective students are encouraged to visit the school and discuss educational plans with the Admissions office. The Academy seeks and prioritizes applicants who wish to study traditional Chinese medicine within the context of Chinese philosophy and Chinese culture.
A personal commitment to the study and practice of the medical arts, combined with a sound undergraduate and postgraduate academic background, are qualities common to the Academy student body. The Academy’s DAOM curriculum is presented in English only.
Application Review
Once your application package and all supporting documents have been received, your file will be reviewed by the admissions committee. In evaluating applicants, the committee takes into consideration many factors: recommendations, past academic performance, professional experience, personal character, and your potential to contribute to the growth of the Acupuncture and Herbology profession.
Application Interview
Once your application package and all supporting documents have been reviewed, an Admissions interview will be scheduled. The interview will either be over Zoom or in person at ACCHS. The Admissions Interview is an important step in you and the school mutually assessing if ACCHS is the right fit and aligns with your goals and vision. Part Q&A, part meet and greet, it’s a great way to get the full picture of studying and growing at ACCHS.
Admissions Decision
You will be notified in writing once a decision has been made by the Admissions Committee, within two-three weeks after your interview. Next steps on Registering for classes and Financial Aid will be shared as well as details on the New Student Orientation will be shared at this time.
New Student Orientation
One week prior to the beginning of the trimester, you will attend the New Student Orientation. The orientation is an ideal time to meet your new community: your fellow cohort, faculty, and members of the administration. During the orientation the academic calendar, school policies, and financial aid are reviewed.
