3rd day of the 3rd month, worship the Yellow Emperor

This event has passed.

On March 23, students, led by teachers Gerry Kuo (郭正傑) and Rebecca Feng (馮思涵), represented our school at the 10th Overseas Yan Huang Ancestral Worship Ceremony in San Francisco, showcasing our exhibition booth!

The Hometown of the Yellow Emperor Ancestor Worship Ceremony is a grand sacrificial ritual held annually on the third day of the third lunar month in the Yellow Emperor’s hometown—Xinzheng, Henan Province. The ceremony consists of nine main rituals: the grand ceremonial cannon salute, offering flower baskets, hand-cleansing and incense offering, bowing ceremony, reading the tribute text, singing the eulogy, musical and dance tribute, praying for China’s prosperity, and harmony between heaven, earth, and humanity. This tradition of worship can be traced back to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, when the descendants of the Yellow Emperor regularly held memorial ceremonies at Xuanyuan Hill (present-day Xinzheng, Henan). After the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, worshiping the Yellow Emperor gradually became an official or folk tradition upheld by successive Chinese dynasties. In recent years, this tradition has spread overseas, allowing descendants of the Yan and Huang Emperors around the world to participate in and celebrate this grand event.

At the event, our students staffed the booth in lab coats, embodying professionalism and teamwork. Their enthusiastic participation not only honored the school but also enlivened the atmosphere. We extend our deepest gratitude to all involved. All on-site therapeutic demonstrations were supervised by Teacher Gerry Kuo.
