A package came for President Andres Bella — two spicy bottles of honey, carefully wrapped in four layers of plastic and nestled in big bubble wrap inside a large box. The sender? Dr. Jennifer Williams, our beloved alumna and current DAOM Program instructor.
The honey was sent as a gift of appreciation for the support we provided in helping her navigate bureaucracy and secure her place as a lecturer at a TCM university in China. But truly, it is Dr. Williams — the beekeeper — who deserves recognition. For decades, she has tirelessly promoted Chinese medicine while helping people in need, one by one: from nurturing her premature son born weighing less than two pounds, to serving patients who travel hundreds of miles to seek her care.

You can read her inspiring story here: Dr. Jen’s Story, and learn about the call that first led her to explore TCM.
If you want to see how her incredible organization and efficiency can inspire your own studies and practice, visit our second-floor hallway. There you’ll find the “Herb Wall,” which lists all 64 formulas essential for passing the CALE (California Acupuncture Licensing Exam) and the NAACOM exam (soon to be NCBAHM).
The honey bottles are now in the kitchen — one upstairs and one downstairs — along with slender sticks, carved from simple chopsticks. All natural, all from the heart, of the flower, of the beekeeper.
Thank you, Dr. Williams, for helping us continue our journey in the world of TCM.
