Course Description
The Orthopedic Acupuncture Integration and Mastery Series serves as a capstone to AOM Professional’s orthopedic acupuncture training, providing participants with an opportunity to refine their clinical assessment skills, deepen their understanding of musculoskeletal dysfunction, and integrate classical acupuncture principles with contemporary orthopedic approaches.
Participants will review and expand upon essential orthopedic physical examination techniques, practice identifying regional dysfunctions contributing to pain and disability, and explore the interrelationships among tissues, body regions, and injuries. Emphasis is placed on integrating the longitudinal jing-jin (sinew channel) framework of classical acupuncture with the regional anatomical approach of contemporary orthopedics and an understanding of cross-body compensation patterns.
Through clinical discussion, practical assessment, and case-based exercises, participants will develop their ability to prioritize symptoms and examination findings, sequence therapeutic modalities, and formulate comprehensive, individualized treatment plans. A grand rounds format will provide opportunities to synthesize and apply previously acquired knowledge and skills to complex clinical presentations.
