The Academy of Chinese Culture & Health Sciences (ACCHS) welcomed prospective students, families, and community members to its 2026 Summer Open House on Saturday, July 25, at its downtown Oakland campus.
The event showcased ACCHS’s Master’s and Doctoral (MAc DAc) programs in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine while giving visitors an immersive look into student life and the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Guests enjoyed a warm welcome with student demonstrations, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, and opportunities to meet faculty, staff, and current students.
Highlights of the afternoon included a Tai Chi and Qi Gong session led by Dr. Wei Lou, program presentations by President Andres Bella and faculty members, discussions on financial aid and career opportunities, and an engaging question-and-answer session. Visitors also toured the campus and teaching clinic, observed an acupuncture needling demonstration by Dr. Roy Zhao, and learned about Chinese herbal medicine during a presentation by Dr. Gerry Kuo.
Located in the heart of downtown Oakland, ACCHS continues its mission of educating compassionate healthcare professionals while preserving and advancing the rich traditions of Chinese medicine. The Open House provided prospective students with valuable insight into the Academy’s academic programs, clinical training, and supportive learning community as they prepare for the Fall 2026 trimester, beginning August 31, with applications due August 1.
