COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Intermediate study of pulse positions and layered pulse qualities, building on foundational skills from Level I. The Shen Hammer Pulse Classes with Dr. Stickley are taught in a rather flexible manner, with a clear pedagogical progression from class to class that also allows for many levels to participate. That means there should be no issue with your participation in class 2 without attending class 1. You may be unfamiliar with some of the material, but there will be ample time to learn and review in the class. Additionally, class materials will be available to you upon registration that will allow you to prepare for the class.

This class is part 2 of a 5 part class series, which offers a rare opportunity for ongoing study of this pulse lineage, with one of its most inspiring teachers.

Part 3 will be held August 8-9 2026
Part 4 on December 5-6 2026
Part 5 February 13-14 2027

INSTRUCTOR DESCRIPTION:

Dr. Brandt Stickley is an Associate Professor in the College of Classical Chinese Medicine, National University of Natural Medicine, and a Visiting Professor at Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine, Pacific Rim College, Five Branches University, Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences, Yo San University and Maryland University of Integrative Health. Brandt is a direct lineage holder and senior certified instructor of the Shen-Hammer Pulse Diagnosis System. Brandt is a graduate of Cornell University and the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  He worked closely with Dr. Leon Hammer for over 25 years, and is considered an authority on the model of Chinese medical psychiatry developed by Dr. Hammer.  In furthering his mentor’s legacy, he has relentlessly pursued a synthesis of Classical Han and Tang Dynasty herbal medicine and acupuncture, Chinese magical medicine, philosophy and religion, with concepts of psychosomatic medicine, body-oriented psychology, neuro-phenomenology, process-oriented philosophy, imaginal, integral, and consciousness studies.  He brings all of these disciplines to play in striving to intend the impossible as a clinician, teacher, writer and speaker.
