端午佳节之际，美洲中国文化医药大学于近日成功举办端午主题文化活动。本次活动吸引了众多师生、校友及社区友人参与，大家共聚一堂，体验传统习俗，感受中华文化的深厚魅力。
On the occasion of the Dragon Boat Festival, ACCHS recently hosted a themed cultural event for celebration. The event attracted numerous students, faculty, alumni, and community friends, who gathered to experience traditional customs and immerse themselves in the profound charm of Chinese culture.
活动现场气氛热烈，参与者们亲手制作艾粑青团，品味甘甜入味的传统美食。Yanqiao 的巧手制作、Sarah 的细致关怀、Camille 的热情邀友，以及 Jason、Nan、Jamina 等英文班同学的积极参与，展现了文化跨越语言的力量。
大个子肖文、马峰、Adam 及和慧等同学默默付出，确保活动顺利进行；四位活泼可爱的小朋友跑前跑后，为现场增添了灵动与欢乐。Cindy 的温暖互动更让众人期待未来同窗共学的机会。
The atmosphere was lively as participants handcrafted ai ba (mugwort rice cakes) and savored the sweet, flavorful traditional delicacies. Yanqiao’s skilled hands, Sara’s thoughtful care, Camille’s enthusiastic invitation of friends, and the active participation of English class students like Jason, Nan, and Jamina demonstrated how culture transcends language barriers.
Dedicated classmates, including the tall Xiaowen, Ma Feng, Adam, and Mandy, etc, worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the event ran smoothly. Meanwhile, four lively children darted around, adding energy and joy to the occasion. Cindy’s heartwarming interactions left everyone looking forward to future opportunities for shared learning.
活动特邀娄师中医分享端午养生智慧，京韵悠长，为师生们提供了坚实的文化支持。苏师傅以深厚的功底演示茶道与琴艺，铿锵话语中蕴含东方哲理，令人回味无穷。
湾区知名华裔设计师贾慧君女士应邀出席，与友人一同为活动增色。秦英同学以普洱相赠，传递亦师亦友的深情厚谊。Leiyan 夫妇的默契配合，May 的中西文化精准翻译，以及 Beatrice、Wyman 的无私奉献，无不彰显活动的温馨与凝聚力。
此外，Peter 的绅士风度、Coral 的知音雅集、红梅飘洋过海来求学的支持，以及窦克忠校长的厚望，无不体现美洲中国文化医药大学作为“文化家园”的温暖与包容。
The event featured a special session by Dr. Lou, a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, who shared wisdom on Dragon Boat Festival health practices, offering deep cultural insights with the lingering charm of Beijing-style storytelling. Master Su captivated the audience with his mastery of tea ceremony and Guqin (Chinese zither), his resonant voice carrying profound Eastern philosophy.
Renowned Bay Area Chinese-American designer Ms. Jia Huijun graced the event with her presence, accompanied by friends who further enriched the occasion. Qin Ying gifted Pu’er tea , embodying the bond of mentorship and friendship. The harmonious teamwork of Leiyan and her husband, May’s impeccable bilingual translations bridging Eastern and Western cultures, and the selfless dedication of Beatrice and Wyman all highlighted the warmth and unity of the gathering.
Additionally, Peter’s gentlemanly demeanor, Coral’s gathering of kindred spirits over fine tea and wine, Hongmei’s journey across the ocean to pursue her studies, and the heartfelt message left by President Phillip Tou ( 窦克忠, Keh Chung Tou) during his lifetime – all reflected the American University of Chinese Culture and Medicine’s role as a warm and inclusive “cultural home.”
Shirley 的鲜甜草莓、Rita 的爽口凉菜、忠林的勤恳后勤、Jackie 的精彩摄影，为活动增添了更多美好回忆。校长的热情开场、赵老师的知识分享、萧老师的悉心指导、郭老师的菖蒲酒酿制，以及校董 Eva 夫妇的压轴助兴，让整场活动充满感动与欢笑。
Shirley’s fresh strawberries, Rita’s refreshing cold dishes, Zhonglin’s diligent logistical support, and Jackie’s stunning photography added to the cherished memories of the day. The president’s warm opening remarks, Teacher Zhao’s enlightening knowledge-sharing, Teacher Hsiao’s attentive guidance, Teacher Kuo’s lovingly brewed calamus wine, and the grand finale appearance by The Board Chairlady Eva and her husband filled the event with laughter and heartfelt moments.

Ms. Coral Liang （https://sfguqin.org/about/）演奏多種中國傳統樂器，其中包含古琴、古箏和簫。她在美國獲得雙語教育碩士學位，有多年的教學經驗。她三歲開始音樂啟蒙學習，六歲學習竹笛。她獲得多個古琴和簫的國內及國際大獎。她的古琴啟蒙老師是廣州古琴副會長陳雷，後從師於紐約葉明媚古琴博士。
Ms. Coral Liang （https://sfguqin.org/about/） plays the Guqin, Guzheng, and Xiao. She received her Master degree on bilingual education in 2019. She started her music study at the age of three and later took up the Chinese bamboo flute when she was six. She received awards at competitions in China and internationally. She studied Guqin from Dr. Mingmei Yip (New York), Lei Chen (GuangZhou).
Peter Holmes LAc, MH 是一位接受过英式专业训练的药用植物学家、精油治疗师及中医师，拥有超过35年临床运用草本药物与精油的经验。他曾师从多位国际知名专家，包括东方医学博士Ted Kaptchuk、法国巴黎药用植物学家兼药剂师Henri Verdier、英国伦敦药用植物学家Christopher Hedley，以及法国巴黎的Elisabeth Roche-Vallee，积累了深厚的学术与临床底蕴。
在长达35年的研究、临床实践与教学工作中，彼得专注于精油对人体生理与心理的双重作用，并开创性地将精油疗法融入草本医学及针灸推拿领域。他与Tiffany Pollard共同创立了”芳香穴位疗法™”（Aroma Acupoint Therapy™）。

Peter is an English-trained medical herbalist, essential oil therapist and Chinese medicine practitioner with over 35 years’ experience of using botanical remedies and essential oils in clinical practice. His extensive training included studies with Oriental Medicine Doctor Ted Kaptchuk, medical herbalist and pharmacist Henri Verdier in Paris, France; medical herbalist Christopher Hedley in London, England; and Elisabeth Roche-Vallee in Paris, France.
Peter brings to his courses and seminars over 35 years of study, clinical practice and teaching experience. He has focused on both the physiological and psychological aspects of using essential oils. He has pioneered the use of essential oils both in herbal medicine and with acupuncture and bodywork in particular. He is co-founder with Tiffany Pollard of Aroma Acupoint Therapy™.
