March 1, 2025 – On a beautiful Saturday, coinciding with 龙抬头 (Longtaitou Festival), marking the beginning of spring, Taiji Professor LOU Wei led students in a special class session in the historic town of Locke.
The ancient pear tree blossomed under the gentle warmth of the day. The fresh scent of the river filled the air, blending with the greenery tended by busy farmers in their gardens. The small museum, a testament to Locke’s recognition by the state and its people, was packed with curious tourists.
Professor Lou watched with joy as his students practiced diligently, demonstrating their best performances during the on-site test. Their faces, along with those of their friends and families, radiated happiness under the morning sun.
Locke will stand strong for generations to come—thanks to its people, their dedication to preserving history, and the cultural legacy they cherish. That legacy continues to shine, not only in Locke but in our hearts as well. Next time, we will visit the small traditional Chinese medicine clinic that once cared for generations of Chinese immigrant workers.
